Keys To Game 3

Tonight is a pivotal Game 3 and a must win for the Flyers. After a dissapointing overtime loss on Monday the Flyers have to respond tonight in Boston. In order for the Flyers to make this a 2-1 series they have to continue to do a lot of what they did in Game 2. Here are the keys to a Flyers Game 3 victory.

Be Persistent- The Flyers had 54 shots on goal in Game 2 and out shot the Bruins by 13. They just have to continue to be persistent and eventually they will get a deflection or a redirection to score. And Tim Thomas will let up a goal sooner or later, right?

The JVR Show- Give the puck to JVR and let the kid do work. Nuff said.

Power Play- Although the Flyers were 1-5 on the power play in Monday's game, they still had problems. On the power play late in the third the Flyers had trouble setting up. The Flyers would skate the puck up but were met by the Bruins at the blue line. Instead of dumping the puck into the Boston zone the Flyers instead tried to force the issue and ended up turning the puck over on multiple ocasions. The Flyers need to get set up better on the man advantage and get better looks at the net.

Defensive Awareness- When Brad Marchand scored on Monday the Flyers had good defensive position. They just didn't account for Marchand who skated all the way around the net and found an open area in the slot and fired a wrist shot past Boosh. Tonight the Flyers defense needs to do a better job of being aware of everyone in their zone. They need to account for everyone and do a better job with their defensive assignments.

Continue Road Success- The Flyers were one of the best teams on the road during the regular season and have continued that streak in the playoffs. The Flyers need to take care of business on the road starting tonight if they want to get back into this series.

Ultimately I expect the Flyers to win tonight. I think JVR is going to have another monster game and the defense will be solid once again. The Flyers need to dig deep tonight and get back into this series.
