Shaner Wins All-Star Final Vote

In a close ballot Shane Victorino won the final vote for the National League All-Star team beating out Andre Eithier, Todd Helton, Ian Kennedy and Michael Morse. For Shaner this will be his second trip to the All-Star game as he was an All-Star back in 2009. Victorino will be joined by Paul Konerko who won the final vote for the American League.

I feel that this is a great honor for Victorino who is a hard working player and is one of the most underrated talents in all of baseball. The Flyin' Hawaiin is an extremely versatile player and he does a lot of the small things to help his team win on a consistent basis. He is a speedy and athletic outfielder and is able to cover a ton of ground out in center field. He is also able to get on base, hit runners in, and overall hit for average as he continues to be the Phillies team leader in hitting. In addition to his .303 batting average, Shaner also has 9 HR, 34 RBI's and 13 swiped bases.

Shaner is the motor behind this Phillies offense and is one of the unsung leaders in the clubhouse. Congrats to Shane on his well deserved All-Star selection.
