Back To The Old Utley

Philadelphia Phillies second basemen has been going through a lot of injuries during the past couple years and because of that he hasn't been the Chase Utley everyone expects him to be, it seems that Utley is finally back though.  After missing two months with a knee injury Utley made his debut and the Phillies expected him to just jump right back into the three hole and dominate.  That just doesn't happen, but Utley has been on fire of late and it seems like he has finally found his stroke.

The second basemen has been on a tear of late and the Phillies will need him to continue that if they would like to win a World Series.  Over his last ten games Utley has raised his average by thirty-five points, which now sits at .288.  His average is starting to be back at the level where it usually sits and if he can be around .300 for the year that would be big.

In Utley's first 45 games he was only able to hit four home runs and drive in eighteen runs.  During his last ten games he has hit four home runs and has driven in fourteen runs.  It seems that Utley's power is now back and with the Phillies offense lacking some power this year it is nice to see.

There is no doubt Utley seems to be back and at full strength.  He has been on fire of late and should continue to hit like this now.  He has his swing back and right.  He looks more comfortable at the plate and has his nice compact stroke working again.  The Phillies will need Utley a full go like this to win a World Series so it is nice to see that he is finally back to the old Utley.
