Phils Notes: Polanco Back, Brown To Minors, Pence To Wear #3

For the Phillies it has been an extremely busy couple of weeks. They acquired outfielder Hunter Pence and just a few moments ago they made another roster move. SI's Jon Heyman reported that Domonic Brown will be sent to the minors so he can play everyday. The transaction will most likely be made official some time tomorrow.

Personally I like the move as it will enable Brown to fine tune his swing and get into a rhythm. I'm guessing that Brown will most likely be in triple AAA Lehigh for the entire month of August. Hopefully after a month in the minors Brown will come back to the big leagues ready to contribute at a high level.

In other Phillies news, according to csnphilly.com, Placido Polanco is expected to be back in the lineup tonight after being out with lower back problems. He hasn't gotten a hit in 2 rehab starts, but claims that he feels good and is seeing the ball well.

Pitcher Roy Oswalt could also rejoin the Phillies sometime next week. According to phillies.com, Oswalt will make one more rehab start on Monday night with Triple AAA Lehigh and could be back for the Phils series against the Rockies.

As for Mr. Pence, he will be in Phillies pin stripes tomorrow wearing the number 3. Just about an hour ago, Pence had this to say via his twitter account: "My time in Houston was Great. I'm extremely lucky to have the time I did, and now because of you I get to chase every players dream. See you tomorrow Philadelphia!" Hunter were happy to have you, welcom to Pence-sylvania.
