Andy Reid On Hot Seat?

This year Andy Reid has no excuses, plain and simple. Joe Banner and Howie Roseman went out and got all the pieces for a successful team, and now it’s up to Reid to put everything together on the field. I’m not saying that Reid will be fired if the Eagles fail to win the Super Bowl, but he will certainly be in hot water if the Eagles once again fail to win the championship.

I am in no way an Andy Reid hater. I’m actually a Reid supporter and think that he is one of the best coaches in the game. I also feel that he is understandably very under appreciated in a Super Bowl deprived city.

But this will be his 12th season as Eagles head coach, and the time to win is now. The Eagles didn’t make a gigantic splash in free agency this year to lose another NFC Championship game. They went out and were big spenders so that they could give Reid all the best players he needs to win a Super Bowl.

Andy needs to improve in areas such as clock management. This Eagles team is too good to suffer from his dumb mistakes. He also needs to do a better job of mixing in the run into his game plan. Altough the Eagles led the NFL in rushing last year, most of those yards came from big plays from Lesean McCoy and Michael Vick. The Eagles need to establish the run more especially with the addition of Ronnie Brown.

There is no telling how large the opportunity to win this current group of guys is. The window of opportunity could be a year, or it could be three, but Andy knows that his time in Philadelphia could be cut short if he fails once again to bring home the Super Bowl.
