Flyers Thrashers Preview
The 5-2 victory over the Penguins on Tuesday was hopefully the spark that this Flyers team has been looking for. A crucial win like that not only helps in terms of overall points and playoff implications, it also helps with confidence and it raises the overall morale of a team. Tonight at 7:00, the Flyers will look to build on Tuesday night's victory when they take on the Atlanta Thrashers at the Wells Fargo Center. The Thrashers are a long shot to make the playoffs, but they should not be taken lightly and the Flyers need to come out with the same intensity that they played with in the Penguins game. This will be the third time the Flyers have faced the Thrashers this month. The Thrashers beat the Flyers both times first on March 12 in a shootout and then again on March 17th in yet another shootout. Although the Flyers did get points in both games, it would be even better if they were able to get 2 points out of tonight's game and put some more distance between them and the Caps and Pens in the standings. Currently, the Flyers have just a 3 point lead over the Capitals and a 4 point lead over the Penguins.
