In last night's 95-85 loss to the Orlando Magic, the Sixers really showed their youth.
Jrue Holiday turned the ball over 4 times, Jodie Meeks went 1-5 from 3 point land, and overall the Sixers did a bad job of containing Magic center Dwight Howard. Howard had his way against Spencer Hawes and Elton Brand putting up 19 points and ripping down 13 boards. The most frustrating part of last night was the fact that the Sixers kept it close for a large part of the game. Going into half time the Sixers trailed by just 3 points, and kept it close for much of the third quarter. But after a late 3rd quarter run by the Magic which included high flying dunks from Dwight Howard, the Sixers found themselves trailing by 14 points going into the 4th quarter. The Sixers outscored the Magic in the final quarter but eventually lost by a final of 95-85.
The loss puts the Sixers at 41-40 on the season, and even with 1 game remaining it locks them in as the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. As the 7th seed the Sixers will take on the Miami Heat in a matchup that could possibly favor the Sixers. Check up on the blog in the upcoming days for a complete Sixers Heat preview.
