If the Sixers want to have any chance at beating the Heat they have to win either game 1 or game 2 in Miami.
Winning either game would ensure that the series would return to Philadelphia tied 1-1. I think that the Sixers could possibly steal game 1 because the Heat are under a tremendous amount of pressure. Anything short of a championship for a team that consists of super stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wayde and Chris Bosh would be a major disappointment. The Sixers on the other hand weren't even expected to make the playoffs, and after a 27-55 record last year, this season has been a major improvement. The Sixers will have absolutely no pressure on them in the playoffs, and will be able to play the role of the underdog and spoiler against the Heat. And can you imagine the media coverage and overall circus that would ensue if the Heat dropped game 1 to the Sixers? Ever since Lebron decided to join Chris Bosh and D-Wade the Heat have been under an intense media microscope that will only strengthen once the playoffs begin.
I expect the Sixers to come out today and put a lot of pressure on the Heat. The Sixers have absolutely nothing to lose and will be able to play a loose and very relaxed style of play. Look for the Sixers to utilize the fast break and push the ball up court whenever they can. Hopefully the Sixers will get Elton Brand and Jodie Meeks more involved offensively in today's game. For the Heat, I predict a lot of bad forced shots early on in the game. The Sixers need to capitalize on this and try to build a big lead in the early parts of the game. The key to today's game is going to be the utilization of the Sixers bench. The Sixers are one of the deepest teams in the NBA and they need to get everyone involved and try to tire out the Heat who don't have a lot of players who can contribute off the bench.
Overall I expect the Sixers to give the Heat a great game today and hopefully edge out a victory.
