Sixers For Sale

The Philadelphia 76ers are in talks with billionaire Josh Harris about selling the team. Harris is a New York-based leveraged buyout specialist, and is a co-founder of Apollo Global Management. The talks between Comcast-Spectacor are still ongoing and a source close to the disscussion calls the deal "imminent".

Harris was reported to have a net worth of 1.5 billion according to Forbes' 2011 billionaire rankings. Some people have pointed out that Harris may only see this as an oppurtunity to make money, rather than win basketball games.

Other partners in the deal include David Blitzer, a private equity executive, and formor NBA player agent and Sacramento Kings executive Jason Levien.
