High Times For The Phils

Right now, life is good for the Philadelphia Phillies. They are on an 8 game winning streak, they have young outfielder Domonic Brown, and tonight Roy Oswalt will make his Phillies debut in Washington. Life for the Phils doesn't get much better. The Phils are also closing in on first place in a hurry. After last night's 3-2 extra innings win over the Diamondbacks, the Phils are now just 2.5 games out of first place, and a game and a half out of the wild card. The Phils were able to extend their winning streak last night by getting a solid game from Kyle Kendrick, and getting just enough runs to finish the sweep of the Diamondbacks. Tonight the Phils will look to extend their winning streak to 9 games as they send new addition Roy Oswalt to the mound. With the addition of Roy Oswalt, the Phils starting rotation is now extremely scary. Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, Cole Hamels, Joe Blanton, and Kyle Kendrick. Just having those top 3 guys in a playoff series makes it extremely difficult for other teams. But first, the Phils have to secure a playoff spot. As well as they have been playing this past week, if the season were to end tomorrow, they would be on the outside looking in. With the new additions to this Phillies team, I expect them to have no trouble extending their winning streak and securing a playoff spot. All eyes will be on Roy Oswalt tonight, as he makes his debut for the Phillies.
