More woes for the Phillies' infield.
During the seventh inning of today's game against the Baltimore Orioles, Mini Mart took a ball off of his right foot, breaking the fourth metatarsal. Although stayed in the game, eventually scoring the go-ahead run, he appeared in the locker room afterwards sporting a boot on the right foot.
Without last year's top utility player, it looks as though Pete Orr will be playing the part this year, with Galvis filling in at second for an injured Utley. Orr hasn't played much shortstop in the past few years, but does have extensive playing time at both second and third.
There have been no reports of how long he'll be out, but it seems as though a broken metatarsal will keep you out for about 4-6 weeks.
